The difference between DC fuses and AC fuses mainly lies in the following aspects:
1. Working principle: DC fuse utilizes the conductivity of metal to generate heat and fuse when the current in the circuit exceeds the rated value, thereby cutting off the current. The AC fuse is calculated based on the effective value of the current, and when the current exceeds the rated value, the fuse blows.
2. Nameplate capacity: The Nameplate capacity of DC fuse is determined according to the thickness of the wire, while the Nameplate capacity of AC fuse is calculated according to the peak current.
3. Blowing time: The blowing time of DC fuses is usually between milliseconds and seconds, while the blowing time of AC fuses is usually between milliseconds and minutes.
4. Usage environment: DC fuses are usually used in DC circuits, while AC fuses are used in AC circuits.
5. Protection performance: Due to the fixed current direction in DC circuits, DC fuses can better protect equipment in the circuit. The direction of current in AC circuits is constantly changing, so the protective performance of AC fuses may be affected to some extent.
